Community Cars

The service is provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars and all journeys are coordinated by the Community Transport office, not directly with the volunteer drivers.

The service is suited to rural areas, time critical appointments or journeys where other services are unsuitable. Many people use the service for healthcare appointments, but social events, shopping and other reasons are all vital for enabling and sustaining independent living. In some areas, it complements the Dial-A-Ride service where only one or two people need to travel.

As this is a voluntary service, it depends on the availability and willingness of the volunteers, as such, there is no guarantee that we will be able to find a driver for your trip. However, we will always try our best to help as many people as possible.
